In order for Emerson to be self-sustaining, we have to make some changes. What changes can we make to reduce costs and/or increase income? Your help is needed to identify the possibilities. Please give this some serious thought and give us your suggestions IN-PERSON on NOV. 12 or use our NEW ONLINE FORM. This form is for you to make anonymous suggestions for reducing expenses and increasing income.
- How can we reduce costs? Currently, our Facility+Salary+Benefits costs make up about 90% of our expenses. These may be hard to reduce, but we want to hear your suggestions. Is there something we could share with another organization to split the cost? What could we live without?
- How could we increase income? Charge the neighbors for walking their dogs in our parking lot? Could we increase rental income? Could we rent the sanctuary to Famous Lecturers? We might have to upgrade Westwood Hall in order to rent it more; would that be worthwhile? Who are potential renters that we might attract? How could we get the word out about renting Westwood? What creative ideas do YOU have?
Our task force’s mission is to create a plan that can keep the church’s lights on and our spirits high for years to come. This involves looking at ways to reduce expenses and increase revenues–all while keeping our congregation’s needs at the forefront. We really need your input.
