We welcome people of all ages, races, political beliefs, national origins, religious beliefs, differing abilities, sexual orientations, and gender identity, as well as those with differing abilities or disabilities.
Rather than basing our religion on specific beliefs, we gather around shared moral values that include the inherent worth and dignity of every person. We believe that our similarities are much more significant than our differences.
If you visit us and attend Sunday worship service, it will likely feel familiar to you. Services are led by our Minister, Rev. Ed Proulx. She usually gives the sermon along with various readings and seasonal observances. The service is accompanied by music ranging from classical to rock, from hymns to choral songs.
Emerson is wheelchair accessible and we have a few short pews with space for wheelchairs. Large-print hymnals and head phones for the hearing impaired/hard of hearing are available. Please ask an usher or greeter to show you where these items are kept.
Emerson offers an expansive religious education program for adults, youth and children. We have study groups, volunteer opportunities in the community as well as on campus, covenant groups and much, much more.
Email us or give us a call (713-597-4838) if you would like to speak by phone and please visit us soon. You are always welcome. Feel free to explore our church, our congregation and our faith in your own way. If you want to see more of our campus, check out the Flickr set of our campus.
