An update from your Ministerial Search Committee While you’ve been barbecuing, or traveling, or just trying to stay cool for the past few weeks, your search team has been busy setting the stage to find Emerson’s next settled minister. The next steps are ALL ABOUT YOU!! Tomorrow (Sept. 8) you’ll receive an email linked to a congregational survey that is designed will tell us a lot about our congregation and what kind of person we want to see in Emerson’s pulpit. (We won’t waste your time here; the email will have complete instructions for taking the survey.) This is your chance to share your beliefs and opinions, to help us better understand what we need from our future minister. Don’t put it off! We need your input by Sept. 22, because the survey data will form the basis for our next phase: a series of small-group meetings in October. (More on those in a later E‑blast.) We will also post the complete survey results on the Emerson website in the Search area. But wait! There’s more! Mark your calendars for Oct. 22-23, when Emerson will welcome Keith Kron, Director of the UUA’s Transitions Office, for a Beyond Categorical Thinking workshop and worship service for Emerson. (And yes—more on that in a later E‑blast, too.) Everyone is invited to this eye-opening and thought-provoking weekend. And for your further information: The Search Committee covenant is downloadable here. Our biographies and photos are available for members to view here. For those who would prefer a paper survey, here is a printable PDF version which you can submit to search@emersonhouston.org.
