One of the events that I have enjoyed attending since I’ve arrived here in Houston is Representative Al Green’s Slavery Remembrance Breakfast. Of course, with Representative Green being redistricted out of office, this will presumably be his last. And just in time, I managed to get myself organized enough to reserve a table for Emerson Folks (and their friends, etc).
I would suggest that you attend if you can. The morning includes breakfast, a legislative update and several keynote speakers. I have found it one of the more inspiring events I’ve attended.
If you’d like to sit at the Emerson table, DO NOT REGISTER on your own. I need you to send ME your name and e-mail address (minister@). I MUST register us at a group to be able to reserve the table. We have 10 slots. Francine and I are two so we have 8 slots remaining. If we go past 10, we CAN reserve more than one table. There is no fee for attendance.
I hope several of you will join us for this, presumably the last Al Green’s Slavery Remembrance Breakfast.
