Our Beloved Community – We are doing it, Emerson family – we are in a smoother part of this wild rollercoaster ride we have been on. There may be more bumps ahead, but at this moment I want to give thanks for this beloved community that has carried on through it all. So much goes on behind the scenes to sustain the church. Last month we celebrated our amazing staff. This month, I applaud all those serving on committees and task forces and steadfastly volunteering for a myriad of tasks both large and small. It would take too long to name and thank all, and I would surely miss some, so this broad “Thank You!” will have to suffice. Thank you!!! In the Trustees’ Notebook, there is a document listing the nearly 20 committees – it is a living document, constantly changing, as the Emerson family changes. It is posted in the membership section of our website so you can peruse at your leisure. Please do look it over (and let me know of any updates!). Send good energy to those who are giving of their time and talents to build and sustain this beloved community. Then come early to church on Homecoming Sunday, September 11 and meet folks in person who are leading up the different committees. If you are not yet involved but would like to be, there is a niche just right for you. After the service, do plan to join in a hotdog lunch and fellowship. I am honored by and grateful for all of you who together create this beloved community at Emerson.]]>
