Director of Music

Julia Morsher, our distinguished Music Director since 2021, brings a wealth of musical knowledge and experience to our congregation. Holding degrees from the Eastman School of Music and the University of Houston, Julia graced the opera stage, performing across the USA and Europe.

After retiring from the stage in 2016, Julia extended her musical insight to local communities. She has coached and directed volunteer-based ensembles and theater productions, while also leading praise bands, choirs, and instrumental ensembles within church settings.

A Houston native and devoted mother of two (Sophia and Cade), Julia has been an integral part of the Emerson family for the past six years, first as one of our choir’s lead singers, and then as Music Director, embodying our shared values and enriching our worshiping experience with the transformative and uplifting power of music.
