“Enough Already” with Guest Minister Ren McFadyen
Disability justice challenges the idea that our worth as individuals has to do with our ability to perform as productive members of society. Guest presenter, Rev. Ren McFadyen offers a theology of wholeness, and urges new thinking about what it means to be disabled, and why accessibility and inclusion is a direct expression of the depth (and dearth) of UU values.
UU minister, Rev. Ren McFadyen (pronouns- they/their) is passionate about disability justice and disrupting ableist culture in Unitarian Universalist spaces and beyond. They identify as disabled, gender queer, elder, and indigenous. Ren currently works as an accessibility specialist within an international team of research/evaluation consultants. Ren’s academic research records stories of kinship and mutual resilience within the disability justice community. Skinner House Books expects to publish a volume of Ren’s work sometime next year. Ren and their guide dog, Abba live in an old house, happily stewarding the land they call home in Mi’kma’ki– Pictou County, Nova Scotia.
