Donating Our Weekly Plate Collection

Members and friends sustain the operating expenses of the church with their pledges, enabling us to give away the Sunday collection. Please write Share the Plate on the memo line if you contribute by check. You can also contribute by credit card in the bookstore. Thank you!

Interfaith Ministries’ Meals on Wheels program receives 25% of the plate every Sunday. Each of the 2021 recipients receive 75% of the plate for the designated month.

The deadline to receive the application for 2025 is November 24, 2024.

Send your completed application to sharetheplate@emersonhouston.org. Click this link for the downloadable version of the form, or submit online.

February – Emerson’s English as a Second Language (ESL) Program

The program was created in 2014 to serve the fast-growing immigrant population of Houston. Houston is home to an estimated 2 million immigrants which represents almost one-quarter of the metropolitan population. We have served students from all over the globe speaking 12 different languages. Currently ESL has four levels of classes to offer on Tuesday and Thursday nights. There is no cost for students to participate in the program and the teachers are all volunteers. Your donation will help us buy textbooks, supplies, and continue to pay for our part-time Program Coordinator, Patty Ryan.
