January 30, 1932 – September 1, 2024
Barbara Morris Eckart was born January 30, 1932 in Atlanta, GA to Helen & Evan Morris. She died peacefully in her sleep September 1, 2024. She attended several Universities before earning her degree from the University of Houston. Attending Adelphi on Long Island started her lifelong love for New York City, more specifically Broadway. The New York Times was a lifelong Sunday tradition. Auburn is where she met her Husband, John F. Eckart (Jack) and married in 1953. Houston, TX intrigued her, so they moved there in 1955. They had 3 children, John Christopher, Cynthia Lee, and Kenneth Ross Eckart. She later became the Executive Secretary for the President of Marubeni Trading and the Secretary for the Board of the Emerson Unitarian Church. If typing were an Olympic sport, she would have dominated for decades. In retirement, she & Jack enjoyed traveling, alternating their time between Houston & Tucson, AZ, and reading even more newspapers. She will forever be remembered for her curiosity, kindness & loving nature. She truly wished everyone well.
