In Canada, Indigenous People’s Day (as we call it in the US) is called National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Canada’s name for the day has more teeth in it than the US version. It honors the children who never returned home and survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. Public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process. On that day, people wear orange as a token of solidarity.
Our Worship Services are weekly reflections weaving together our own thoughts and experiences with music, beauty, poetry, and words that both comfort and challenge. Our programs for all ages inspire us, and awaken us to our capacities to make a difference in our own lives and in the world.
