The Crusades as a historical entity, a philosophical endeavor, and a series of political maneuvers occurred not just in the Middle East, but also in Spain, Northern Europe, and Southern France. Also, Christian Crusaders fought not only Muslims, but also Jews, pagans such as Slavs, as well as other Christians. Their actions against non-Christians (or even Christians with different views) served as a blueprint for further Christian abominations in the centuries to come.
