The first session dealt predominantly with the Indian subcontinent and the Near East. The second session will move further East. The dominant discussion will be on Buddhism, its basic beliefs and structural forms, and particularly its political ability to spread from India to most areas in the Far East. The other two “Big Three” religions in China – Confucianism and Daoism – will be discussed and compared. Finally, there will be general discussion about differences in religion, spirituality, and history between the East and the West, and what they may mean
