Looking for community? Connections? You may find it easier to get to know people in a small group or activity rather than during social hour or at a big church event.

Programs and activities at Emerson—on Sundays and during the week–connect people of all races, ethnicities, ages, gender identities and sexual orientations. From current events and book studies to sacred texts and ethical eating, you’ll find events, discussions and activities that fit your interests, arouse your curiosity and stretch your horizons.

Come find your connections at Emerson!

Life’s a Cabaret – Now that’s a wrap!

To all those who donated, sponsored, bid, and/or attended our 2025 Silent Auction party last May 17: THANK YOU! Together we raised $11,485 in sponsorships and $15,677.75 in purchases for a total $27,162.75, which is $1,580.75 more than last year’s auction.

We tried a very different party format this year, foregoing bid paddles and live auctioneering altogether, and it appears the new format was a hit! The food was awesome, and there were plenty of beverages to choose from. Attendees had a lot of fun vying for the gaudy team trophy during each pub quiz round, figuring out the reverse charades clues (shhh!), and serenading us with various karaoke songs, while silent, paper-based bidding continued in the background.

Besides our many generous donors and buyers,  the 2025 Auction Team would also like to extend a special thanks to the evening’s volunteers who helped make this event a true showstopper: setter uppers Linda, Ed, Rob, and Bob, master of ceremonies Stephen, silent auctioneer Ron, bartenders Bill, Laurie and Larry, photographer Michael, and cleaning crew Ruth and Elena. Many hands really do make light work! Again: THANK YOU, and hope see you again at next year’s – equally interactive – event!
