Despite the fact that the major established Western religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) have often been thought of as predominantly doctrinal and ritualistic, they each have a rich spiritual tradition. In this session, we will begin with Judaism, starting with a general discussion of what constitutes spirituality and then looking at scriptural examples of early Jewish spirituality, particularly Merkabah Mysticism.
