First UU Dallas is offering a zoom course on Biblical Literacy.

I think you should take it.

You think I’m crazy. Here me out: The current political climate in these United States has weaponized the Bible. For many of you, I know its not your first experience with a weaponized Bible. That said, the well being of many of who Jesus called “the least among us” is at stake and whether we like it or not, it falls to us to right the wrongs being created in the name of the Bible.

A lack of familiarity with the Bible causes many of us to freeze or disengage when the conversation shifts to the Bible, empowering those who would weaponize the Bible to shape these United States in their destructive image.

Therefore, I am framing attendance in this class as an act of CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE designed to EMPOWER you to not have to freeze or disengage if you don’t want to.

Despite my years of studying the Bible, I intend to attend.
