EMERSON IS STARTING A DRUM CIRCLE CLASS FOR BEGINNERS

TAUGHT BY LONG TIME UU DRUM TEACHER CRAIG BERTUGLIA

 

Who: 

Teacher – Long time experienced teacher of drum circle drumming, Craig Bertuglia will teach the class. 

Students – Beginners and experienced drum drum students are welcome.

 

What: 

The class is called Drumming in the Spirit of Harmony (DISH)

DISH is a drum circle where we will explore the meditative aspects of playing percussive instruments together as a meditative focus. All levels of participants are welcome as we will start each session with a short lesson on the terminology and methodology of learning Middle Eastern, African, and Mediterranean rhythms. When: 

Every second Thursday of the month starting May 11th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

 

Where: 

Emerson Sanctuary

 

How: 

Craig will teach us the how and bring us drums to use.

 

Why: 

To be a part of a fun fellowship, to feel the power of creating rhythm together, to share with the congregation our new rhythms during special services and to most importantly, to be the sound of Emerson’s new heart beat.
